Standard product categories

The product names below are the categories we list on industry directories like IndiaMart and in our wholesale catalogues. They cover the bulk of our production:

  • Pure linen fabric — 100% linen in standard and wide widths
  • Cotton-linen fabric — 55/45 and 70/30 blends, our largest category
  • Linen-silk fabric — including linen-silk jacquards for premium home textiles
  • Brocade fabric — figured constructions on jacquard looms
  • Hemp and hemp-blend fabric — a growing category
  • Linen-viscose, linen-lyocell, linen-modal — soft-handed cellulosic blends
  • Recycled-content fabric — under our GRS scope, for buyers needing recycled-content claims

What we don't do

We do not sell finished garments, home-textile products, or anything retail through this channel. Govardhan is a business-to-business fabric supplier. If you're looking to buy curtains, bedsheets, or linen shirts at retail, our retail sub-brand Buunai operates flagship fabric stores in Delhi and Kolkata where you can buy fabric by the metre.

We do not do small orders. Minimums are set per article and per construction, typically quoted in metres or kilograms depending on whether you're buying yarn or fabric. Contact us for specifics.

How orders work

  1. Initial enquiry. Use the RFQ form, email sales@govardhan.org, or call our head office.
  2. Sample request. For new constructions or new customers we'll send physical swatches and a construction sheet. Sample turnaround is typically a week.
  3. Quote. Pricing is per-metre for fabric and per-kilogram for yarn, FOB India or CIF to destination port for exports. Payment terms are agreed upfront.
  4. Production programme. Confirmed orders are scheduled into our production planning calendar. Typical production cycle from confirmation to dispatch is four to eight weeks depending on construction, quantity, and whether yarn needs to be dyed.
  5. Quality and dispatch. Every piece is inspected on our in-house inspection line before dispatch. E-invoice and e-way bill accompany every shipment.
  6. Certification handover. For GOTS / OCS / GRS orders, scope certificate copies and Transaction Certificates (TCs) are issued alongside the invoice.

Certification on orders

Every product we sell can be supplied under our certified scope — GOTS, OCS, GRS, OEKO-TEX, or a combination — depending on the fibre, the process, and your specification. A certified-scope order costs slightly more because of the chain-of-custody documentation and the restricted input sourcing, but the premium is modest relative to the retail markup our customers can charge for certified goods.

If you don't need certification, we also supply standard (non-scope) fabric at the same quality level minus the paperwork.
