# What buyers
ask us.

Direct answers. For anything not covered here, use the [RFQ form](https://govardhan.net/contact) or email `[sales@govardhan.org](mailto:sales@govardhan.org)`. Q01 What's your minimum order quantity? +

Standard articles: 500 metres per colour per run. Custom developments start at 1,000 metres per programme. Low-volume sampling (150 metres per colour) is available at a premium. Q02 What certifications do you hold? +

GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard), OCS (Organic Content Standard), GRS (Global Recycled Standard) — all audited by Control Union — and OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 (Certificate No. 20.HIN.28168, Hohenstein India). Our finishing partners are named on our OCS scope. See [certifications](https://govardhan.net/certifications) for certificate numbers and validity dates. Q03 Can you develop custom fabrics? +

Yes. Our production programme system supports full custom development: new constructions, new counts, new widths up to 122", new weaves (plain, dobby, 6,144-hook Jacquard), new finishes, new blends. Share your target spec and we'll come back with feasibility, pricing, and lead time. Q04 What's your typical lead time? +

Greige or stock-shade articles: approximately 60 days from order confirmation. Yarn-dyed or custom developments: 65–70 days. Custom programmes requiring fresh yarn dyeing should be planned on a 10–12 week horizon. Q05 How does yarn dyeing work? +

Yarn dyeing is executed by our long-standing certified partners. All dyeing partners operate under our GOTS / OCS scope for certified orders, preserving full chain of custody. Typical turnaround is approximately two weeks. See [dyeing & finishing](https://govardhan.net/capabilities/dyeing-finishing). Q06 Can you ship internationally? +

Yes. We hold an active IEC (Importer-Exporter Code, issued 1995) and maintain LUT on file for zero-rated exports. We support the commercial, shipping, and certification paperwork for export orders, including Transaction Certificates for certified shipments. Q07 What GSM range do you weave? +

Approximately 100 GSM (fine apparel linen) through 700+ GSM (heavy upholstery). See [weaving](https://govardhan.net/capabilities/weaving) for the full weight-range breakdown by use case. Q08 What widths can you weave? +

Single-width fabric at 53", 58", 61–64" on our 190 cm Dornier loom bank. Wide-width fabric up to 118" and 122" on our Dornier PTV 6/8 J at 340 cm working width — critical for drapery, tablecloths, and bed linens where a single uncut width eliminates seams. Q09 Do you support sustainability audits? +

Yes. We are audited annually by Control Union for GOTS, OCS, and GRS, and by Hohenstein India for OEKO-TEX. We support customer-side social compliance audits on request. Q10 What linen counts do you work with? +

2.5, 5, 6.5, 10, 14, 16, 25, 33, 40, 44, 50, and 60 LEA — the full commercial linen count spectrum. We supply Nm equivalents for European-facing orders. Grades include EXL (Extra Long), DLX (Deluxe), Super, and Normal. See [yarn](https://govardhan.net/capabilities/yarn) for the full count table and grade descriptions. Q11 Where does your flax come from? +

European flax, grown in the Normandy (France) / Belgium / Netherlands belt. Our primary yarn supply is spun from this European flax under European Flax protocols — rain-fed, non-GMO, non-irrigated. Q12 What's the difference between wet-spun and dry-spun linen? +

Wet-spun linen is spun through a hot water bath, producing a finer, smoother, stronger yarn used for premium apparel and fine home textiles. Dry-spun linen is spun without water, producing a coarser, more textured yarn used for heavy furnishing and rustic constructions. See [yarn capabilities](https://govardhan.net/capabilities/yarn) for the full explanation. Q13 What's the difference between long-fibre and short-fibre flax? +

During hackling (the combing stage of flax preparation), the fibres are separated into long-line fibres — the longest, straightest, finest fraction, used for premium wet-spun yarns — and tow (shorter, tangled fibres), used for coarser dry-spun yarns. The fibre length determines what count the spinner can achieve. Q14 Can you support yarn-dyed programmes? +

Yes. We coordinate yarn dyeing through certified partners, then weave on our Dornier rapiers — producing checks, stripes, plaids, and multi-colour constructions. Yarn-dyed fabrics lock colour into the construction rather than applying it to the surface. Q15 Do you work with blends? +

Yes. We regularly produce linen-cotton (55/45 and 70/30), linen-silk, linen-viscose, linen-lyocell, linen-micro modal, hemp blends, and linen-polyester — all covered by our OEKO-TEX scope. Recycled-content blends are available under our GRS scope. See [blends](https://govardhan.net/products/blends). Q16 What's your widest loom and why does it matter? +

Our Dornier PTV 6/8 J has a 340 cm working width, producing up to 122" greige fabric. This matters for home-furnishing buyers: drapery, tablecloths, bed linens, and upholstery panels can be cut from a single uncut width, eliminating seams and improving drape. Q17 Do you offer recycled-content fabrics? +

Yes. Our GRS (Global Recycled Standard) scope covers recycled polyester in blended constructions. Recycled-content claims are backed by Control Union chain-of-custody and Transaction Certificates. Q18 How do I get a quote? +

Send a design brief to `[sales@govardhan.org](mailto:sales@govardhan.org)` with your target construction (warp count × weft count, reed × pick), target width, target GSM, finish, quantity, and any certification requirements. Or use the [RFQ form](https://govardhan.net/contact). Q19 Is there a Transaction Certificate for certified orders? +

Yes. For GOTS, OCS, and GRS orders we issue a Control Union Transaction Certificate at shipment covering the specific lot. OEKO-TEX coverage is via the standing scope certificate. Q20 Can I visit your plant? +

Yes. Our weaving plant is at KIADB Apparel Park, Doddaballapur, approximately 45 km from Bangalore. [Contact us](https://govardhan.net/contact?type=visit) to schedule a visit.
